The lower west lawn with it's massive flower beds, rock walls, staircases and view of the beautiful Bitter Root Mountains is another favorite spot on the grounds for weddings. The area past the fence once was the location of the Home Ranch where racing & trotting horses were pastured. It was one of many ranches located on 22,000 acres of the Bitter Root Stock Farm that Mr. Daly founded to raise thoroughbred race horses. South of the lower west lawn sits a playhouse that was built for the children. It was large enough, that in later years it was used to house caretakers of the Mansion property. Just past the playhouse is a pond built by the Daly family for boating and fishing. It now sits on private property.
